Ware - Yvonne C. (Letendre) Banas, 74, of Ware died on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves two sons, Carl Banas and his partner Caitlin Davis of Ware and Erik Banas of Ware; brothers, Leo Letendre of Ware and John Letendre of Hudson, sisters, Doris Porowski and Claire Dowell both of Ware, granddaughters, Camille and Carly Banas and her loving and devoted dog, Lady. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Daniel J. Banas, and sisters, Nancy Letendre and Lorraine Fountain. She was born in Ware, daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Labarge) Letendre.
Yvonne was an exceptionally loving, kind and generous wife, mother and friend. She had the kind of spirit that would light up a room. With her outgoing personality, she easily made friends everywhere she went. Yvonne loved tag sales and looked forward to hosting her multi-family tag sale every year. She also enjoyed playing bingo, attending church, her flower garden, cooking and spoiling her wonderful family. Yvonne was known for her contagious smile, her love of laughter and was best described as a "Ray of Sunshine."
A Funeral Mass for Yvonne will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:30AM in All Saints Church, 17 North Street, Ware. There are no calling hours and everyone is asked to meet at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the: American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware is assisting her family with arrangements.
