Alice E. (Girouard) Denault

Alice E. (Girouard) Denault, 96, of West Brookfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Brookhaven Assisted Care.

She leaves her daughters, Celeste O. Deremian and her husband Michael of West Brookfield, Suzanne F. Randall of Sturbridge, and Mary Ann A. Drysdale of South Dennis; her son, David F. Denault and his wife Victoria of Venice, Florida; her special sister-in-law, Linda Denault of Charlton, as well as her best friend, her granddaughter Reagan of West Brookfield.  She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Alfred “Red” Denault in 2015, as well as her two sisters, Florence Strong and Odile Drapala, and her brother, Arthur Girourd. Alice was born in Southbridge, daughter of the late Frank and Ida (Gatineau) Girouard and lived in Sturbridge most her life. 

In addition to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Alice worked as a Secretary at CPC Engineering in Sturbridge for several years.  She was simple and selfless in life, and was always willing to help others.  She was a long-time parishioner at St. Anne’s Church in Sturbridge, and credits her long life in part to her strong faith. 

Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Brookhaven Assisted Care for the wonderful and compassionate care that they provided to her.

A Graveside Service for Alice will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 2:00pm in North Cemetery in Sturbridge.
