Ware - Beulah A. (Cox) Patnaude, 97, of Ware died peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.
She leaves her daughter, Nancy Lukaskiewicz of Ware; her two grandsons, William and his wife Sammie of Manistee, MI and Robert and his wife Sharri of Hartford, CT and Montague MA; her two great-grandchildren, Alisa Lukaskiewicz and Owen Toal as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was born on April 14, 1924 in Old Town, Maine, daughter of the late John and Mabel (Hildreth) Cox. Beulah was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Arthur; her son-in-law, Paul Lukaskiewicz; her two brothers, Harold and Maynard and a sister, Betty.
Beulah worked at the American Woolen Company in North Vassalboro, Maine. When the facility closed in 1955, the family of three moved to Ware, where she and her husband were employed by Bay Path Textiles for many years. She went on to work at Nautilus Works as a receptionist and trainer, a job she loved. The Fitness Factory later became her daily stop where she was well known and admired.
Beulah and her late husband enjoyed fishing together at the Quabbin Reservoir and in several locations in Maine. They traveled to Cobb’s Pierce Pond and Horseshoe Pond in Maine where they would spend the entire week fishing and especially enjoyed sharing that place with their grandsons. She was an avid advocate of exercise and rarely missed a day of “working out.”
Some of the most special times in Beulah’s life were when she traveled to the places where her grandson was stationed when he was in the U.S. Army. She traveled to Texas, California with a side trip to Las Vegas, and Germany with a side trip to France. While in Germany she was honored to have Thanksgiving dinner with the soldiers and was interviewed by reporter, Jim Merceda. That interview was on television! Sammie took her and Nancy to Paris, a trip she talked about for years. The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, The Louve and many other historical sites were among the itinerary. She was a great traveler and enjoyed every minute of it.
She was a member of All Saints Church in Ware.
