Brie M. (Smart) Dionne

Ware - Brie M. Dionne, 70, of North Street, died on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Quabbin Valley Health Center in Athol.

Brie was born on July 9th, 1947 in Ware, daughter of the late Kenneth and Annette (Berthiaume) Smart and lived in Vermont for many years before returning to Ware in 2008.

She leaves behind her daughters, Dawn Charette and her husband Jean Paul of Gainesville, GA and Shannon Ortona and her partner Bruce Baldyga of Palmer; two grandsons, Matthew Charette and his wife Courtney of Rosedale, LA and Sgt. Ryan Berthiaume, USMC and his wife Nea of San Diego, CA, four great grandchildren, Kaylee, Oliver, Normand Jackson and William, and her four siblings, Wayne Smart, Susan LaValley, Kathleen Jurczyk and Gloria Chaplin all of Ware.

While Alzheimer’s stole the last several years of her life, Dawn and Shannon would like you to remember her as a friend to everyone, a lover of music, a phenomenal softball player, an avid reader and a cat lover.

Dawn and Shannon would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Quabbin Valley Healthcare “Dana Unit” for their extraordinary care of our Mother.

Funeral Services will be held privately and there are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, Inc., P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.   Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St. in Ware is assisting her family with arrangements
