Catherine J. (Dugas) Dugas-Campbell

West Brookfield - Catherine Dugas-Campbell, 66, of West Brookfield, died suddenly on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.

She leaves her husband of over 25 years, Alan B. Campbell; her stepchildren, Matthew M. Campbell of Athol and Jennifer M. Howland and her husband Scott also, from Athol along with 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She also leaves her brothers, David Dugas and his wife Dianna, Michael Dugas and his wife Laura, and James Dugas, and her very special friend, Susan Garbose-Brown.  She was born in and grew up in Athol, daughter of the late Armand and Margaret (Gushen) Dugas. Cath will be remembered for her ability to light up a room with her presence as well as the selfless support and comfort she gave to her parents in their final years.

Catherine received her Bachelor’ s Degree from the University of Lowell.  She worked as a Principal Support Engineer at the former Digital Corporation for 20 years, where she met Alan. 

Catherine led a fast-paced lifestyle and had numerous friends and acquaintances all over the country as well as in West Brookfield where she lived with her husband for 22 years. Most people in town knew her as ‘Cathy Campbell’.  She enjoyed staying fit and active – hiking, canoeing, and caring for and rescuing horses.  She was a social standout with a welcome sense of humor. Catherine had a natural ability to make everyone in the group feel at home and welcome.  She loved watching birds with her favorite being Cardinals.  Catherine was a long-time cancer survivor, who never let her illness slow her down.

Catherine Campbell will be remembered and loved by so many people whose lives she touched with love and generosity.
