Charlotte Ruth (Lyman) Eldredge

West Brookfield - Charlotte Ruth (Lyman) Eldredge, 87, of West Brookfield died on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by her late husband of 52 years, Harland R. Eldredge.  She leaves four daughters, Deborah K. Howe formally of Vermont, and now of West Brookfield, Caryn R. Eldredge of West Brookfield with whom she lived, Deann L. Caron and her husband Robert of New Braintree, Laurie J. Calkins and her husband Charles of Danville, NH; one son, Christopher L. Eldredge and his wife Shannon of Hardwick; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her grandson, Shane.  She was born in Henniker, NH, daughter of the late Wilfred and Helen (Hall) Lyman and has lived in West Brookfield for over 34 years.

Charlotte worked as a Secretary at the former Wm. E. Wright Co. for over 10 years.  She also worked as a Nurses Aide in Maternity at Mary Lane Hospital for 8 years.  She was a former member of the George Whitefield United Methodist Church in West Brookfield, and also attended the annual reunions of the Quabbin Greenwich Foundation.  She loved to work in both her vegetable and flower gardens, knitting, baking apple pies, and vacationing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Her greatest loves though, were her large family of children, grandchildren, great-granchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4 to 6PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield.  Burial will be in Quabbin Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
