Ware - Donald M. Niquette, 89, of Ware passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center.
He leaves his Wife of 63 years, Marilyn Niquette; Son, James Niquette and his wife Christine; Daughter, Nicole Rohan and her husband Jonathan; Grandsons, Joseph, Steven, Derek, and Gavin; Granddaughters, Jessica, Kimberly, Elizabeth, and Katie; Great-Grandchildren, Evahn, Kennedy, and Quinn; He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Patricia Niquette in 2013.
Donald was predeceased by his sibings; Brothers Robert, Edward and Roger; Sisters Dorothy Hamel, Evelyn Couture and Helen Deshaises. He is survived by his sister-in-law Elaine Niquette of Chicopee. He was born in Holyoke and grew up in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, son of the late Maurice and Gladys (Bailey) Niquette.
Donald served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was proud to have worked as a mechanic on B-29 Bombers. He enjoyed bringing his grandchildren to air shows and museums whenever a B-29 was on display to show them the history and share stories about his time in the military.
Donald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family. His greatest joy was knowing that he provided a full and fun life for his disabled granddaughter Kimberly. He worked for the Wall Street Journal in Chicopee for 32 years. After he retired, he enjoyed golfing with friends at Amherst Golf Course, Dunroamin Country Club and Lake Worth Golf Course in Florida.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., Ware. A private burial will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
