Doris E. “Dot” Terry, 91

Spencer - Doris Evelyn (Arsenault) Terry, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 29. She is formally of Brookfield/Charlton/Spencer. She was born on December 24 in Toronto, Canada. She is predeceased by her husband Lewis B. Terry of 60 years and her son Paul L. Terry.

Survived by her son Bruce Terry and wife Linda of Spencer with whom she made her home for many years, her daughter Joyce Plainte and husband Lyle of Hardwick, her daughter Janice Wilson and husband Robert of Brookfield, her daughter Susan Butler and husband Raymond of Sturbridge, her daughter-in-law Christine Terry and sister-in-law Carolyn Arsenault. She leaves 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her sisters Vivian Harder, Inez Fredette, and Mona Penny and her brother Robert Arsenault.

Doris loved reading, watching and feeding the birds. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, taking walks and eating ice cream. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored listening to her great-grandchildren's animated stories about school and sports. She loved to watch the constant commotion on Cranberry Lake throughout the four seasons. Doris spoke of her sisters often and would always remind us of how they self-proclaimed one another as the "Golden Girls".

The family would like to thank our friends Moe and Sue Wilson for their kindness and friendship in taking care of our mom throughout the years. We would also like to thank the Summit ElderCare of Charlton as well as Christopher Heights of Webster.

A Funeral Service for Doris will be held, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Brookfield Congregational Church, 8 Central St. in Brookfield.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 2, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St. in West Brookfield.
