North Brookfield - Ernest J. Sharron, 69, of North Brookfield passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at UMass Memorial Hospital due to COVID complications with his loving family by his side. He would have celebrated is 70th birthday in April.
He leaves his sisters, Pam Wade and her husband Michael and Paula St. John and her husband Gerry of West Brookfield, Angie Goldsmith of North Brookfield, Vicky Sharron, Alice ‘Dee Sharron’ Cox and her husband Jesse, Lisa Marie Sharron, Eileen Barros and her husband John all from Nevada. Washington and California; his brothers, Ray Fortin of Orleans, VT and Mike Fortin of North Brookfield, Edward Sharron, Eugene Sharron and his wife Angela, Erin Sharron, Errol Sharron and his wife Angela all from Nevada and California; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Fortin, Jr. and his nephew Greyson Sharron. He was born in Ware, MA and was the son of the late Edward J. Sharron, Eleanor R. (Benoit) Fortin and, Paul F. Fortin, Sr.
Ernest had fond memories of his service and friends in the United States Coast Guard as a helicopter flight mechanic and flight operator and was ultimately stationed at the Brooklyn Naval Air Base. He worked mostly in the electrical fields and was self employed as a painter before getting hit hard with COPD and emphysema.
He enjoyed hunting, watching movies, painting, motorcycles and he never missed a family or friend’s birthday with a hand delivered card.
Ernie was very close to his brother, Paul Jr. who died tragically entering his senior year of high school. He was very active in school acitivities such as student council and was class president. Memorial donations may be made to Paul Fortin Jr. Memorial Scholarship at North Brookfield High School, 10 New School Drive, North Brookfield, MA, 01535.
A Graveside Service for Ernie will be held in the spring. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
