Frances A. (Mallon) Befford

Frances A. (Mallon) Befford, 81, of North Brookfield, died on Monday, May 10, 2021, at home with her loving family by her side.

She leaves her husband, Gene Befford; her two sons, Michael and Jacqueline Befford of East Brookfield and Daniel Befford of North Brookfield; her five grandchildren, Mikayla, Abby, Andrew, Matthew and Josslyn; her sisters, Elaine Emery and Alice Gilman.  She was predeceased by her three siblings, Claire McQuaid, Robert Mallon and David Mallon.  She was born and lived in North Brookfield her entire life.  She is the daughter of the late John and Adela (Lemieux) Mallon.

Frances was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Spending time with her family was important but not as important as her role as grandmother.   Birthdays and Christmas were special for grammy and making sure that her family felt extra loved.  From watching the kids dance recitals to soccer games, she lovingly would cheer them on.  She was kind, warm, and generous, and will be missed by those who knew her. 

She served as a member of the Bereavement Committee at St. Joseph’s Church, and as a Cub Scout leader when her boys were young.  Her love of travel and adventure took her and Gene to Fort Myers, Florida every winter, in addition to exploring what the East Coast has to offer. 

Funeral Services for Frances will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sawyer-Mathieu-Kearns American Legion Post 41, 163 North Main Street, North Brookfield, 01535.
