James A. Korzec

North Brookfield - James A. Korzec, 70, died peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Quaboag Rehabilitation Center in West Brookfield.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Charlene (Cleveland) Korzec; one son, Jeffrey Korzec and his wife Laura of Natick; one daughter, Shannon (Korzec) May and her husband Rick of Ware; his father, Raymond Korzec of West Warren; one sister, Barbara Piazzo and her husband Kenneth of Warren, and four grandchildren, Tyler, Jonathan, Sadie and Nora. He was born in Ware, son of the late Elizabeth (Stabach) Korzec and grew up in West Warren before moving to North Brookfield in 1976.

Jim started his career as an advertising manager at Wrights in West Warren and worked there until 1987.  He continued his career as a sales representative retiring from RR Donnelley of Connecticut in 2009. 

Jim loved taking pictures and capturing countless family memories on video. He loved videotaping sporting events and was known for his creative and funny play by play.  His hobby was woodworking, where he enjoyed making furniture for his friends and family.  He loved taking trips to the casino with his wife.  Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren who called him ‘Tada’.

A Celebration of Life for James will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the First Congregational Church in North Brookfield.  There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baystate Regional Cancer Program, Baystate Mary Lane Hospital, 85 South St., Ware, MA 01082. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
