West Warren - James C. Wilson, II, 89, of West Warren, died on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Joanne R. (Beauregard) Wilson; his daughter Martha Jo Harrison and her husband Justin of Philadelphia; three sons, Dr. James C. Wilson, III, and his wife Rachel, of West Brookfield, Andrew E. Wilson and his wife Ami Clifford of Boston, and Joseph P. Wilson, and his wife Siobhan Powers of Rhode Island, along with nine grandchildren; Steven, Jacob, Erica, Clifford, Gregory, Robert, Ryan, Lile, and Tessa. He also leaves his brother, Charles Wilson, and his sisters, Carol Rixen and Mary Leblanc. He was born in and grew up in Gardner, son of the late James C. and Adele (Arnold) Wilson. In 1966, he and Joanne moved to Warren to raise their family on the Valley View Farm on East Road, where Jim’s grandparents had raised their children, including James C. Wilson, I, James’ father.
Following graduation from high school, James enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Korean conflict. Following his military service, he graduated from the former Fitchburg Teacher’s College, and then went on to earn a M.Ed. degree from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Wilson was a science teacher at Quaboag Regional High School for 30 years, and a life-long student and teacher of biology. He was endlessly curious, and was known for generously sharing his love of nature with his students and his community. He was also known for his remarkable success at living life on his own terms, by his own lights.
