John R. Bruyere, 57

Warren/Ashland – It is with sadness that the family of John R. Bruyere, 57, of Warren/Ashland, MA announce his passing on April 13, 2018.  

He leaves behind those he cherished most here on earth; his son, Dr. John R. Bruyere, Jr. and his wife Lily of Pensacola, FL; his daughter, Joanna L. Bruyere Cabral, CPA and her husband Gustavo of Pflugerville, TX; their mother, Brenda S. Bruyere; his beloved grandchildren, Liam J. Bruyere and Leonardo B. Cabral. His brother, Leonard Bruyere of Corinth, ME; two sisters, Barbara Gessler and her husband Benedict of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Lou Signorelli of Westborough, MA; his aunt Sister Rita Welch of Brighton, MA and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother Paul Bruyere and his sister Rita Bruyere. He was born in Framingham, MA son of the late Leonard and Barbara (Welch) Bruyere.

John found great fulfillment in spending time with family, hosting get-togethers, and practicing his craft of carpentry. His passion, creative vision and amazing eye for detail showed in the homes he helped to build and remodel. John took great pride in his work and especially found joy in using his talents to transform the homes of those he loved. He dedicated over 20 years to his profession before his health brought him to an early retirement. The happiness and pride that woodworking once brought him would be later reignited by the birth of his two grandsons.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for John at St. Cecelia’s Church, 54 Esty St., Ashland, MA on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 9:00 AM.   Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects to John and his family prior to the Mass beginning at 8:15 am. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland, MA.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in John’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association or the Sisters of Joseph Retirement Fund, 637 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA 02135.
