Bondsville - John Richard Parmenter, 76, of Bondsville died peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Chicopee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He leaves his wife, Kathleen M. (Cole) Parmenter to whom he was happily married to for 25 years; his sister, Pauline Forte of Ware; his sons, Richard and Orin Parmenter; his daughter, Clarissa Parmenter; his three grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Philip J. Cole and his wife Pamela; his son-in-law, Louis P. Mayo; his daughter-in-law, Meghan Mayo as well as the apples of his eye, Zachary Mayo and Stefania Mayo. He was predeceased by his daughters, Dodie and Michelle; his brothers, Joseph and George; brother-in-law, Earl Forte; his in-laws, Philip and Doris Cole as well as his parents, Henry and Mary A. (Dubinick) Parmenter.
John was born in Holden. He resided in South Barre, Gilbertville, Ware, Warren and finally Bondsville.
He worked for the former Tampax Company and Gilbertville Foundry. He retired after 40 years from the former Ludlow Papers, later Kanzaki Specialty Papers.
He loved all animals, camping, traveling to Maine’s oceans and watching Zachary and Stefania grow. He will be missed for his jokes, laughter as well as his Santa Clause visits to many houses over the years. To all who had the opportunity to know him, they will miss his contagious laughter and smile.
The family would like to thank Chicopee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their professional way they took care of John. He enjoyed the staff and residents and made them smile while in their care.
At the family’s request, services for John will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ware Knights of Columbus, c/o William Blodgett -Treasurer, PO Box 88, Ware, MA, 01082.
