Ware - Kelsey A. Lee, 24, of Ware, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with Mitochondrial Myopathy.
She leaves her caregiving parents, Denise T. (Provencal) and Dominick P. Lee; her brother, David H. Smathers and his wife, Alyssa of Bridgeton New Jersey; her paternal grandparents, Edward and Deborah Lee of New Jersey, and her maternal grandparents Armand Provencal of Florida and Carol Provencal of Ware; along with her nephews, Jason and Jackson, and her niece, Marybeth. Kelsey also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and many cherished friends. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Lynn (Langlois) Corson.
Despite her illness, Kelsey was always able to have a positive outlook on life along with a welcome smile. She graduated from Ware High School, and became a local Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Along with Renegade Souls RC who formed a ride in Kelsey's honor. Kelsey’s Ride has raised close to $20,000 for the Shriner’s Hospital.
A Funeral Mass for Kelsey will be held at 11AM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in All Saint’s Church, 17 North St., in Ware. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware.
