Brookfield - Laura M. (Bruneau) Paquin, 93, of Brookfield died on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Oriol Health Care in Holden.
She leaves her son, Bruce Bachant and his wife Judy of Hubbardston; her daughter, Paula Prager and her husband John of Glen Burnie, MD; a step-son, William H. Paquin and his wife Terry of Seattle, WA; a step-daughter, Debra Leigh and her husband Kevin of Warsaw, IN; her brother, Harry Bruneau of Ellenton, FL; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Ernest H. Paquin in 2007, as well as her sister, Rachel Gauthier. She was born in Northbridge, daughter of the late Arthur and Olivina (Tellier) Bruneau, and lived in both Spencer and West Brookfield, prior to moving to Brookfield in 1988.
In addition to taking care of her family, Laura worked as a machine operator at Smith Valve Manufacturing in Westborough for 12 years, retiring in 1989.
Laura was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Brookfield, and the Adams-Coney-Frew American Legion Post 244 Women’s Auxiliary in West Brookfield. She also served as a member on the Board of Directors at Nanatomqua Mobil Home Park in Brookfield.
A Graveside Service for Laura will be held in Mary Queen of the Rosary Cemetery in Spencer in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or www.cancer.org.
