Linda Soltys Obituary

Gilbertville - Linda A. (Pluta) Soltys, 73, of Gilbertville, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at home.

She leaves her daughter, Shelley A. Pratt, her husband, Brian and his daughter Miranda; her son, Chad E. Soltys and his fiancee, Christine LeGrand; as well as her beloved granddogs, “loyal side kick” Chance, Lola, and Penny.  She was born in Ware, daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Sierakowski) Pluta.

Linda began her time in the workforce as a cosmetologist, and then added massage therapy to her repertoire.  She was a caregiver for so many and had so much love and compassion in her heart for all in need.   She always put everyone before herself, always.  She was a private pilot and flew crosscountry in her fathers refurbished 1946 Stinson airplane.  She was always volunteering with the American Cancer Society and the “Look Good, Feel Better” program.  She also volunteered 10 plus years for the Pan Mass Challenge to massage the riders in Bourne after their long trek from Sturbridge.

Linda was a loving and devoted mother, dog grandma, and friend to many.  She enjoyed caring for those close to her, and for all those who needed her help.  She was the type of person who was able to perceive when others were in need of support, and who would offer her support without a second thought.  She loved sewing, crocheting and quilting, gardening and planting in her yard, and she enjoyed decorating her house every year with her elaborate Halloween decor.  She also loved her walks on the beach. However, she loved the time she spent with her family and friends most of all.

She was a member of the All Saints Church in Ware.
