Margaret D. (Peggy) Goudreau

West Brookfield - Margaret D. (Emerson) Goudreau, 76, of West Brookfield died on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.

She leaves her husband of 57 years, Kenneth E. Goudreau of West Brookfield, her son, Kevin J. Goudreau and his wife Shari (Tateronis) of Auburn, her daughters, Brenda Charpentier of East Brookfield and Gwen Von Werne and her husband Warren of Royal Palm Beach, FL; 6 granchildren, Helaine-Rose Goudreau and her husband Conor Kenny, Eric Goudreau, Caitlin Charpentier, Justin Charpentier, W. Charles Von Werne, and Carolyn Von Werne;  her brothers, Paul J. Emerson, Kenneth D. Emerson,  Edward A. Emerson all of Peru, MA, and Robert C. Emerson and his wife Marianne of Dalton. Margaret was predeceased by her brother, William Emerson. She was born in Pittsfield, daughter of the late Charles G. and Madeline (Zahn) Emerson.

Margaret was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren in her later years more than anything.  She was very proud of all of them.

She was an enthusiastic and involved member of  the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution and was proud of her heritage.  Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed researching her family history.  She was recently elected to the housing authority and cared deeply about her local community.

Professionally, Margaret was a bookeeper and built many wonderful relationships with her co-workers in both northeastern Connecticut and Massachusetts.

A private graveside service for Margaret will be held with family members  in Pine Grove Cemetery later this spring.  There are no calling hours, however an online guest book is available at varnumfuneralhome.com.
