Mark S. Foucher

July 9, 1956 ~ September 28, 2020 (age 64)

North Brookfield - Mark Stephen Foucher, 64, of North Brookfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2020.

Born to parents Homer Foucher and Ruth (Warren) Foucher, on July 9, 1956 in Worcester, Massachusetts, Mark was the fourth of seven children. As part of such a large family, Mark played a vital role as one of the older siblings and assisted with day-to-day living. He is survived by all of his siblings.

He made his livelihood as a truck driver for Laurence Candle Company where he worked tirelessly to support his family for many years. His motivation and blue-collar work ethic were passed on to his children, Michelle Verham of Hardwick, MA and Paul Foucher of Oakham, MA. Although he worked for many years as a truck driver, the greatest job he ever held was that of becoming a “grampy” to Michelle’s three boys and sneaking them sweets at any given opportunity.

A fan of most Boston sports, he was a diehard for the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, and his “weekend uniform” was always that of a flannel shirt and a baseball hat supporting one of his teams. On any given Sunday afternoon, you could find him on his couch watching football and emailing his sister about the family football pool. Mark was an avid reader and his love of literature and his grandsons inspired him to write novels and children’s books in his retirement. He became a self-published author and his family members find great enjoyment reading his works.

Although hampered later in life by illness, Mark was always involved in conversation. At any given time of day or night, he could be found making a joke or laughing at someone else’s. Although his breathing made things more difficult towards the end, no matter how short of breath he may have been during your last conversation with him, he always got in the last word to prove that he was right - no matter what.

Mark was loved dearly and will be missed greatly by his family.
