Maureen Benoit Obituary

Brookfield / Worcester – Maureen E. (Webber) Benoit, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, James R. Benoit who passed away in 2015. She leaves one son, Patrick J. Benoit and his wife Lisa; one daughter Jennifer E. Meikle and her husband Norman; and her two grandchildren Colin Egan and Sophia Benoit. She is survived by her mother Martha E. Webber of Auburn as well as her siblings, Michael Webber and his wife Kelly, Richard Webber and his wife Mary, Paul Webber and his wife Mary, Anne DiBona and her husband Paul, and Margaret Collins and her husband Bill, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.  Maureen also leaves several close life-long friends who were very dear to her.  She was predeceased by her father Richard Webber and her brother Stephen Webber.

Maureen was born in Worcester, the daughter of Richard and Martha (Stimson) Webber, and lived over 40 years in Brookfield.  She graduated from the former Worcester City Hospital as a registered nurse.  Before her retirement and illness, she worked for almost 50 years at the Lutheran Home of Worcester, assisting families in caring for their elderly loved ones.

She was an outstanding baker. Her apple pies were legendary, her whoopie pies were a family gathering favorite, and her chocolate chip cookies were always on hand.  They were always incredibly delicious and dubbed "Nana cookies" by her two grandkids.  She enjoyed family togetherness, vacationing in Maine, and reading, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, Colin and Sophia.
