Ware - Paul F. Gauthier, 74, a life-long resident of Ware, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Baystate Wing Hospital, after battling heart disease and diabetes for several years.
He was the son of the late Raymond H. Gauthier, Sr. and Julia R. (Boynton) Gauthier, and was predeceased by his brother, Raymond H. Gauthier, Jr. Paul leaves his nephews, Raymond J. Gauthier and Jacob R. Gauthier; his nieces, Holly M. Gauthier, Melissa A. Gauthier, Stacy A. Gauthier, and Michelle A. Gauthier; and his cousin Robin (Prizio) Thomasian.
Paul attended Ware High School before following in his father’s footsteps and joining the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. He was a hard worker and a loyal twenty-five year employee at Flexcon, from where he retired earlier this year. Throughout his lifetime, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering with motorcycles and cars, and collecting remote controlled trucks and planes. In addition, much like his mother, he had a special fondness for cats. Paul was quiet, but strong willed and proud. He was a staple of Aspen Street and will be missed by his family, as well as the neighbors that befriended him during the last years of his life.
Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware is assisting his family with arrangements.
