Ware - Pauline L. (Duval) Nicholson, 94, of Ware, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at her son’s home with her family by her side.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, Charles F. Nicholson; a son, Charles R. Nicholson and his wife Cheryl of Hardwick; five grandchildren, Tina Swindlehurst and her husband Matthew, Richard Nicholson and his wife Cynthia, Charlene Peterson and her husband Jim, David Puliafico and his partner Jennifer, Robert Puliafico and his wife Debra, 10 great-grandchildren, her sister, Marlene, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Judith Puliafico and also leaves her son-in-law, Charles Puliafico. She was one of 13 children, and was predeceased by her siblings, Walter, William, Henry, Roland, Robert, Albert, Alfred, and Edward, Gloria, Teresa, and Rosie. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of the late Lazaed J. and Regina M. (Gelinas) Duval, and has lived in Ware for the past 30 years.
Pauline worked as a screen printer at the former Hardwick Print Shop for several years.
She was a long-time member of All Saint’s Church and the former Mount Carmel Church in Ware. She loved to tend to the gardens around her home, and enjoyed traveling, cooking was a passion she shared with her family especially around the Holidays and she also enjoyed going to the beach, socializing with friends and meeting new people. She had a heart of gold, and was the rock of the family whether someone needed help, advice, or just have someone to listen to. She had a spit fire personality and was not afraid to say what she wanted to. She credits her long life to her faith, and the love of her family, especially cherishing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass for Pauline will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10:30AM in All Saint’s Church in Ware. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10am in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street in Ware prior to the mass. In accordance with current Massachusetts COVID regulations, masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines must be followed while in the funeral home and the church.
