Ralph T. Long

Brookfield/North Brookfield - Ralph T. Long, 95, a long-time resident of Brookfield and North Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Lydia Taft House Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Uxbridge.

He leaves his sister, Charlotte LaDean Martin of California; a step-son Alfred Cozzolino of Sutton and his wife’s niece, Katie Semelrock of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Ann in 2004; his two step-sons, Richard J. Cozzolino and Clifton Barnett; as well as his four brothers, Robert, James, Charles and Richard Long.

Mr. Long was a United States career Navy Veteran joining in 1943 at the age of 17 and serving for over 20 years. 

Ralph worked as a welder for E.W. Foster Company for almost 40 years.

He loved camping at Old Orchard Beach and Key West, Florida.

We wish to thank his caregivers Sharon, Kelly and Pam who helped to keep him in his home all these years.  He will be sadly missed by Steve, Jackie and their family.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors for Ralph will be held in the Massachusetts National Veterans’ Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.   

Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
