Robert Merrill Obituary

 

Easthampton - Robert T.  Merrill, 68, of Easthampton, died on Monday, February 3, 2020 at his sisters home in West Brookfield surrounded by his loving family.

 

He leaves his brother, Paul A. Merrill and his wife Michelle of Warren; his two sisters, Ann R. Merrill of West Brookfield and Alice L. Romaniak of  North Carolina; his nieces and nephews, Traci Murphy, Kevin Romaniak, Andrew Merrill and Emily Merrill; his great nieces and nephews, Jeremy Romaniak, Kevin Romaniak Jr., Kellie Romaniak and Starr Murphy and a great great nephew, Charlie. He was born in Ware, son of the late Theodore C. and Mary R. (Roberts) Merrill.

 

Robert was a loving and devoted brother, uncle and friend.  He was a very special uncle taking on the role of a dad when his brother-in-law passed away.  He was a wonderful man who was kind and giving with a great sense of humor.  Robert was a huge Rolling Stones fan.

 

Robert worked in Office Administration at Optivac/Corning for many years. Many knew him as Computer Bob.

 

He was a member of the Senior Gay Mens Support Group of Northampton.

 

At Robert’s request, services will be held privately. A celebration of life will be held at the Adams-Cooney-Frew American Legion Post 244 in West Brookfield on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 11-2PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to A Positive Place in Northampton www.cooleydickinson.org/programs-services/hivaids
