Thaddeus “Bunky” A. Drazek, 84, of North Brookfield died peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at home.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Janet S. (Prindle) Drazek of North Brookfield; three daughters, Wendy Gould of Webster, Sheryl Reidy of Shrewsbury, and Denise Kania and her husband John of Charlton; six grandchildren, Michael Hellstrom, Jr. and his wife Kasia Hellstrom, Sean Hellstrom, Eric and Alexander Reidy, Emily and Andrew Kania, as well as two great grandchildren, Marta and Kaya Hellstrom. He was predeceased by his parents Theodore and Stella Drazek, and his brother Robert Drazek.
Bunky graduated from North Brookfield High School and Worcestor Industrial Tech. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Hugh Purvis DD709. Following his time in the service, he worked as a tool maker at Brookfield Machine for 28 years. He was a member of the North Brookfield Sportman's Club, the Conservation Commission, and the town Historical Committee.
Bunky was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he was an avid sportsman with a love of hunting, the outdoors, and his family.
A Funeral Service will be held in honor of Bunky in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 11:00AM. Calling hours will be held just prior to the service, from 10 to 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in North Brookfield following the service.
