Carolyn E. Arsenault, 83

West Brookfield – Carolyn E. (Poti) Arsenault, 83, of Wickaboag Valley Road, died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield. 

She leaves her daughter, Karen Hall of Sandown, New Hampshire; two sons, Keith Arsenault and his wife Marie of West Brookfield, and Kent Arsenault and his wife Deb of Wolcott, Connecticut; two sisters, Arlene Carlisle of Santa Barbara, California, and Linda Anderson of Revere, as well as six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.   Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Arsenault in 1983.  She was born in Flushing, New York, daughter of the late Walter M. and Theresa (Stefka) Poti.

Mrs. Arsenault was the former owner of the Mount Sunapee Motel in Sunapee, New Hampshire as well as the Winthrop Inn Nursing Home, in East Hampstead, New Hampshire.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Wirecraft Products, Inc. which was founded by her parents in 1955.  As a hobby, Carolyn raised and showed Shetland Sheepdogs, known as Shelties, for several years, and won many championships showing her dogs.  She assisted the Sheltie Rescue Foundation for several years, and served as the West Brookfield Animal Inspector as well.

A funeral service for Carolyn will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
